We got Sophie in 1999 from a vets in derby. We were just in time as well as a young lady said she didn’t want her and her 3 other litter mates and was willing to have them put to sleep. When we got her she was 1 year old and is the oldest of our current cats at 11yrs old.
This is the second time we have had Shyla. We first rescued Shyla in 2000 after a friend brought her to us as her owner was abusing and starving her. Shyla was a year old although was very small due to the neglect. She also had a bad case of cat flu wich took months of treatment and care for her to recover. We re-homed her again after 1 year of building her up and getting her used to being handled properly. Then a year later she came back to us. scared and under fed. This was because the couple who had her split up and they took it out on there pets. on her arrival back we decided this time to keep her. she is now 10 years old and loves life again.
Saffie was a loving kitten who lived near to us. she would come running to any one and loved being fussed. she was spayed at 6 months ( August 2006 ) by her previous owners. Then 2 days after they spayed her they kicked her out and went on holiday for 3 weeks. When we found out we took her in and on there return went and spoke to them about the cat. They just shrugged there shoulders and said keep her so we did.
We got Amber and Pippa from the same house. When we got her in 2007 she had never been out of the house, she was terrified of people and hid out of the way. She is still a little weary of people but loves being fussed by us and loves the out doors even though she will not leave the back garden.
Smokey: Smokey was brought by a family with a 1 year old baby. They paid £200 for him as he was supposed to be full Persian (we think he is only half Persian). They only kept him for 7 weeks and he came to us at 15 weeks old in August 2008. He was flea infested to the point it could have killed him. Smokey is the most loving cat i have ever known and loves to be with people 24 hours a day.
