I just want to cry...
Ever since I had Jasper spayed at the end of June he is so distant...
I have a small igloo like cat house for them and he hardly ever comes out.
I have to sneak up on him to pet him...
He won't come and sit with me any more...
It was a HUGE ordeal getting him to the vet.
He broke the cat carrier and I had to corner him in the bathroom to catch him and use a soft sided lunch box to get him there (no worries I did not suffocate him, left it cracked and live less than a mile from vets).
Was worse getting in the cardboard carrier at the vets to come home.
Took 4 of us, a laundry basket, a rope and a towel, and he scratched me up very badly. I just do not know what to do... I have tried snuggles, treats leaving him alone to come to me and it is not working...
Help please... crying

1 of my cats Sophie has to be held by both back legs and front and shoved in her cat box upside down and head first. If we dont do it that way we end up with a big fight with her and she gets upset. When i have had cats that are distant i will lay down on the floor beside where they are hiding and talk to them quietly and gently. I have a bowl of tuna with me too and offer little bits.

I have 2 cats Shyla and Amber that went to hide from the moment they arrived. They are now both friendly lovable cats althou they are still frightened of strangers. Good luck with Jasper hunni.

have you tired feliway plug in its very good i use it all the time when cat sitting.
I also find no touch, no talk,no eye contact and infinate patience works wonders too as usually i find that they come seek me in the end some take longer than others ans some never seem to get back fully to how they were but most eventually so signs of trust once again. :luv:
