HI All,

My 5 year old cat Pooky does exactly like i said above, plays kitty roulette with us, in that she either purrs or draws blood! We got her from the CP when she was 13 weeks old,but since she was found wondering the streets no one knows her history!

I know that torties are in theory the devil incarnate, but i wodner if anyone has any tips for trying to chill her a bit? I already have feliway going all the time, but it doesnt seem to have calmed her that much!

She is very much her own cat, you know comes on your lap when she wants to, and you will be smoothing her, then for no reason she will turn and either bite or dig claws in

She is very skitty as well ,like if she is on the bed or our laps if we move  even a millimeter she hops off and wont come back. She has been spade so there is nothing else on that side of things i can do!

The main reason I am asking is because I think soon I will be thinking of getting another kitty companion to fill the hole left by my 18 year old who recentely passed away, but am owrried that she will kick a kittens butt , or do worse to a slightly older (1/2 years) cat.

Any help will be grateful xx

I had a cat like that miffy was from a rescue centre and had no previous history, she was like a devil cat and wouldnt let us touch her most of the time, except when it suited her! after a few years she settled down and became a real fussball, she didnt like other cats much but tolerated them. same with Loki, when we got her she was 2 and they knew nothing about her, she was always really nice to me when we were on our own, but she was pure evil when it came to my ex she seemed to go out of her way to be cruel to him!! and would even scratch me when he was around. I thought it may be that she had a problem with men but she was fine with some male friends.
she also only tolerates other cats, but now shes 9 shes a big softy, as she got older her evil ways slipped away, maybe she just became comfortable, she didnt have to worry anymore now she new she had a home for life. or maybe she just hated my ex!!! Grin
