Asthma is another human's disease which can also be found in cats. This allergic disease attacks breathing system. Feline Asthma is caused by allergens like cigarette smoke, pollen, various sprays like hair sprays and deodorants and dust. What is Feline Asthma is also sometimes called bronchitis, bronchial asthma. This disease attacks all cats but mostly those older than 2 years of age. Females and Siamese are thought to be more prone to this disease. Asthma is recognizable by troublesome and noisy breathing, sneezing and coughing. To check if our cat is having asthma we can take her to have chest x-ray picture taken. In some cases, asthma can be there even if x-ray shows nothing. As with any other cat disease, Vet should make correct diagnosis. If correct diagnosis is made and early treatment is started damage done by this disease can be minimized. But in most cases Feline Asthma is never cured completely. What makes their life easier are inhalers like the ones used for human's Asthma.
